Meditation and Microdosing to become more present

The heart hums a love ballad when we listen in silence – Jaclyn Rose

What do meditation and microdosing have in common?

Meditation and microdosing are two distinct practices that can have powerful healing effects on both the mind and body. While they may seem different on the surface, both practices involve altering the state of consciousness to improve well-being and healing.

Meditation is a mindfulness practice that has been used for centuries to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve overall health. The practice involves focusing on the breath, body sensations, or a particular mantra or visualization, and observing thoughts and emotions as they arise without judgment. By training the mind to stay present and centered, meditation can help individuals cultivate a sense of calm and clarity, reduce anxiety, depression, and improve emotional regulation

Different types of meditation.

There is a prejudice when it comes to meditation, that we are not allowed to have any thoughts in the moment. Which can cause a huge frustration during your meditation, because how often do we manage to have no thoughts at all? Exactly! Our mind produces more than 70.000 thoughts per day, so to want to establish a silenced mind for the whole duration of your meditation may bring you the opposite of rest and calmness. The key with meditation is awareness. Awareness of your thoughts, awareness of your inner world and awareness of your body. The more you practice meditation, the more present you will be during your day. And to be more aware in your present moment brings you opportunity to make conscious choices during your day. It will bring more calmness in challenging situations and more peace during out your day.

While most of us think that meditation is sitting still on a cushion and trying to still the mind, meditation can be practiced in different ways. For example, you can go on a walk in nature, fully aware of your surroundings, feel the gust of the wind, hear the leaves rattle by a breeze, smell the flowers blooming in sight and see the vivid colors of nature without judgement.  Even doing your dishes can be a form of meditation, to become aware of your movements, feel the water running over your hands, fully be present in the moment it self.

There are guided meditations which helps you to become fully present, or transcendental meditations guided by music or binaural beats. Each type of meditation has its own unique benefits and techniques, but all share the common goal of improving self-awareness and peace.  In our blog about different meditations you’ll find more types of meditations and on how to start meditating.

Microdosing, on the other hand, involves taking small, sub-perceptual doses of a psychedelic substance like our Micr0 Balance truffles regular basis, using one of our advised methods. Unlike full-dose psychedelics, which can cause intense and often overwhelming experiences, microdosing involves taking just enough of the substance to experience subtle shifts in perception and mood without losing touch with reality.

While microdosing is a relatively new practice, there is growing evidence to suggest that it have therapeutic benefits for a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Out of user experiences we have noticed also that it can enhance creativity, improve focus, and increase empathy.

Why microdosing and why meditation?

While meditation and microdosing may seem like vastly different practices, they share some commonalities when it comes to healing. By shifting the focus away from outer distractions and towards the present moment, both meditation and microdosing can help you gain greater insight into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

One of the key benefits of both practices is their ability to promote neuroplasticity, or the brain’s ability to form new neural connections and rewire itself in response to experiences. Studies have shown that both meditation and microdosing can promote neuroplasticity by increasing the activity of certain brain regions and decreasing activity in others. This can help you develop new habits, change negative thought patterns, and improve overall cognitive function.

Another important benefit of both practices is their ability to improve emotional regulation. By training the mind to stay present and centered, meditation can help you develop greater resilience and equanimity in the face of stress and adversity. Similarly, microdosing has been shown to increase emotional regulation by enhancing empathy and reducing fear and anxiety.

Overall, both meditation and microdosing can be powerful tools for healing and self-discovery.  At Micro Balance we advise to practice meditation during your microdose cycle. While they may not be suitable for everyone, they offer an alternative approach to traditional forms of therapy and medication. With both practices it is important to approach them with an open mind and a willingness to explore new ways of healing and growth.

At Micro Balance, we not only provide you with quality truffles with psilocybin but also to be guided along the way with one of our guides. Our mission is to help and nurture your healing journey back to your true self again. Never alone, always together.
